Clinical Observation of Patients Hospitalized during the Past 5 Years

Abstract
We have observed 3,759 children patients (excluding orphans), classified by disease, age, sex, and season, who were admitted to out hospital during the past 5 Years-1963 to 1969.
In classifying the disease, the following results have been obtained: of the total 3,759 patients, 1,172¢¥ (31.19%) Were infectious diseases, 817 (21.73%) were respiratory diseases, 743 (19.77%) were new-born diseases and 272 (7.23%) were poisonings It also showed that the number of newborn diseases increased every year, and it was a surprise to find that ;the number of poisonings were of a high. percentage.
In classifying the cases by sex, the following are the results: 2,591 (69.09%) were male and 1,163-(30.91 %) were female which is 2 : 1 ratio.
To classify them by season; 1, 058 (28.15%) cases happend in the summer, 1, 012 (26.92%) in the: fall, 935 (24. 15%) in the spring, and 751 (19.98%) difference is relatively insignificant.
To classify than by age; 2, 305 (61.295%) patients fell in the age group of 1 month to 6-years which held the highest percentage.
